OMG OMG OMG!
As we first closed on our home September 14th at 6pm, later that night we became engaged!
It was wonderful enough for us to close on our first home after years of city apartment living, but now it made more sense for us to be homeowners as we begin this adventure together!
So, beginning story of the closing. We had to drive from the city to New Kent County, which is about forty minutes away. Now some close in offices, but we closed here
At a country club. Good to know people in the business, huh? It was relaxing, we actually had a lot of fun signing papers while joking with the people who had been with us every step of the way.
Now when my parents moved into their home (over twenty years ago) I remember that we spent the first night eating in the kitchen on a picnic blanket with wendy's. It was adorable. But since we lost our picnic blanket within the piles of boxes, and no wendy's was nearby, we chose a delicious alternative:
Outback Steakhouse. With champagne in solo cups which is not pictured because we were too busy eating this food.
So after gorging ourselves, Adam suggested we explore the house.
He took me into our den which has no overhead lighting. It was dark. Something was in the corner but I could not make out what it was. I assumed it was a horrifying bug and refused. Minutes later after arguing about who needed to go over there and check it out, I finally gave up and inched my way towards the object. It was a little box.
Before I could figure out what it could possibly be, he turned me around, got down on one knee, opened the box, and
You could guess I was pretty excited.
We had to go back to our apartment since we were moving the next day with some amazing friends, but we agreed it was the best day ever.
